Von dort fuhr Cn. Fulvius mit dem größten Teil der See- und Landstreitkräfte nach Rom zurück. Postumius dagegen blieb mit vierzig Fahrzeugen zurück, sammelte ein Heer aus den umliegenden Städten und überwinterte im Lande zum Schutz für die Ardiaeer und die anderen Stämme, die sich in ein Treueverhältnis zu den Römern begeben hatten.

Gegen das Frühjahr hin schickte Teuta Gesandte zu den Römern und schloß mit ihnen einen Friedensvertrag, in dem sie darein willigte, die ihr auferlegten Tribute zu zahlen, ganz Illyrien mit Ausnahme weniger Plätze zu räumen und, was die Hauptsache war – dies bezog sich vor allem auf die Griechen –, nicht mit mehr als zwei Booten, und zwar unbewaffneten, über Lissos hinauszufahren.

2. Appian: Die Illyrischen Kriege

Demetrius, who was Agron’s governor of Pharus and held Corcyra also, surrendered both places to the invading Romans by treachery. The latter then entered into an alliance of the Issii and of the Epidamnians, who were besieged by the Illyrians. The latter raised the siege und fled, and one of their tribes, called the Atintani, went over to the Romans.

After these events the widow of Agron sent ambassadors to Rome to surrender the prisoners and deserters into their hands. She begged pardon also for what had been done, not by herself, but by Agron. They received for answer that Corcyra, Pharus, Issa, Epidamnus, and the Illyrian Atintani were already Roman subjects, that Pinnes might have the remainder of Agron’s kingdom and be a friend of the Roman people if he would keep hands off the aforesaid territory, and agree not to sail beyond Lissus with more than two Illyrian pinnaces, both unarmed. She accepted all these conditions [Ἡ μὲν δὴ ταῦτα πάντα ἐδέχετο].
