1. Athenaios von Naukratis: Das Gelehrtenmahl

[...] So too, a woman named Aglaïs the daughter of Megacles gave the trumpet-signals at the first great procession held in Alexandria, wearing a wig and a crest on top of her head, according to Posidippus (1) in the Epigrams [fr. 3 Schott]. She also used to eat 12 pounds [λίτραι] of meat and four choinikes (2) of bread, and could drink a full pitcher [χοᾶ] (3) of wine.

2. Aelian: Varia Historia

I learn that a woman called Aglaïs, daughter of Megacles, played the trumpet and was employed in this art. Her hair was covered by a wig and she wore a plume on her head; Poseidippus is the source of this information. Her dinner consisted of twelve minae [μναῖ] of meat, and four day’s rations of bread, and she drank a jug [χοᾶ] of wine.
